Donation Information
IMA has a commitment to maintaining an intimate experience for the campers with a high faculty to student ratio. As a result we only accept 15 campers per session and the camp fee to hard expense ratio is pretty even. Therefore all "extra" expenses, i.e., fees involved with complying with state regulations, the purchase of housing units (the yurts), extra paid ads, musical equipment purchase and repair, video and audio tape, etc., must come from elsewhere.
Here are some ways to give:
SPONSOR A YOUNG MUSICIAN
Financial Aid Fund
In the Name of Our Mothers, the rock n' roll girls scholarship/financial aid fund: To acknowledge and honor the lineage of women who have nurtured our dreams, we have named the rock n roll camp scholarship fund: In the Name of our Mothers. Consider supporting the dream of a teen-aged girl by donating a full scholarship ($900) in the name of a woman who nurtured your dreams, either directly or by her example in the world. Or simply donate to the general fund for financial aid. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Full scholarships are awarded on the basis of proven commitment to music, financial aid awarded as needed as long as funds are available.

The Your Hometown here Rockin' Girl Scholarship
Think about identifying a teen-aged girl from your hometown who would benefit from attending the camp and then raising the funds to send her. Since IMA's mission is to support women in music, we can think of no better way expand the impact of our work than to have groups of people around the country raising funds to send girls to our camp. A community effort such as this raises awareness that there is support for young women to get out there and rock 'n roll. You will provide a place for young women in your hometown to look to for encouragement to step forward with their musicianship. And hopefully you will stay connected to these girls when they return home and help nurture their dreams.
There are a number of ways you could go about selecting the recipient and raising the funds for the scholarship, we would be happy to assist you with promotional materials and ideas. Contact Ann Hackler at ann@ima.org for more information about The Your Hometown Here Rockin' Girl Scholarship.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE:
Faculty/Staff Fund
The three core music instructors are seasoned performers and industry professionals. They stay on the grounds and in addition to their daily lessons, give private instruction, and spend countless hours getting to know and mentoring the campers. Perhaps you would like to directly sponsor a faculty member for a session or the entire summer. We would also like to add additional staff and/or interns in order to lighten the load of the music faculty, staff engineer and executive director: full-time professional cook, assistant director, videographer, photographer, recording engineer for final concerts. Cost units per staff member range from $300 for part-time to $1,000 for full-time in donations earmarked to the Camp Faculty/Staff Fund.
Guest faculty Fund
Female artists and professionals in the music industry lead workshops and work with girls individually providing additional inspiration and perspective for the girls. We have had many artists donate their time and skills to teach at the camp, which has been great. But because IMA's overall goal is to support women artists we would like to offer a stipend of $200 to cover their expenses. We generally have 2 guest faculty per camp for a total of six. Consider sponsoring one or more of these artists with a donation earmarked to the Guest Faculty Fund.
Equipment fund
The one piece of equipment that we have to rent every year is a keyboard, we would like purchase a top of the line electronic keyboard for the camps. Or perhaps you have one gathering dust in a closet--donations of working instruments, amps or other gear are always welcome. To receive a tax deduction for the donation of equipment you must have an appraisal done in order to gauge the tax value of your donation. The upkeep of equipment is another camp related expense. Supplies such as drum heads and strings are costly; further, the equipment can take quite a beating during the camps so having a fund dedicated to repairs is critical. Consider a donation earmarked to the Camp Equipment Fund.
General Operating Fund
Perhaps you would just like to make a simple donation earmarked either to the camp or to IMA's general operating expenses and let decide where to use it.
With your donation of any size or type, you can help us offset the costs of operations and allow us to continue to purchase new gear for the camp, for the barn and for IMA. We appreciate and value any and every donation. Whether a one time donation, an annual donation or monthly donation as a Harmony Hundred member, we cherish all the help that you give and in turn allow us to offer these young women.
